Can We Bring Back the Downloads Section?

Way back when I first joined this site (all two years ago) there was a section in the Main Menu called Downloads where people could get freeware games and stuff. I think that section disappeared around late 2004, but I think it'd be a good idea if it was brought back. You could put up a list of accessible freeware and the links to where this stuff can be downloaded. How about it?

I only became a member in July last year so i didn't see this feature but it sounds really good. I agree it would be good if it was back again.

That would be cool, however I've noticed most of those games were dos based.

Wow! I never knew the site had such a link before. I think it's a great idea to put up again. I wonder why it was taken down?

I never knew that either. That would be great and you know what i think lets say if someone puts up a comedy bit or something on there audio profiles people might want them so can you make the audio profiles downloadable? And that is a great idea. I came here last august and i did not know there was a link like that so get back about this. Thanks

I wasn't here when they had this feature either, but that would be cool to bring it back.

I wasn't here when they had that feature either, but I think it would be nice to have links like that, as well. It's always good to have a place where you can get information and links to other sites.

Post 9 by Q (Take my advice, I'm not using it anyhow.) on Thursday, 25-May-2006 14:41:33

Although I agree that this is a nice feature, I am sure that there was a good enough reason why the staff decided to remove that particular section.
Perhaps some admin or CL could let us know why it was removed, and what the possibilities are of bringing it back, if it would be viable of course.

O&AFan, if you get a program like Download Express you can download the audio profiles as they are now.

I wasn't a member to this site either when they had that feature. However I was on the zone one day awhile back and some zoners were talking about why it was removed in the first place but I won't say why though just to keep you in suspence. <evil grin> I'll let the CL's and Admins tell you why it was removed.

Also there is another way of recording audio profiles. You go to volume control, go to options and properties, and from there you sellect ajast volume for recording and you pres ok. After that you press tab until you hear wave out or something like that and make sure the checkbox saying sellect is checked.
After that you will be able to record with sound recorder or sound forge whatever is coming out from your speakers including jaws as well so you will have to make sure that is not speaking when the profile you are playing.
I hope you found this useful.

Well, most of the links in the file browser were dead so it was useless Plus it took a lot of bandwidth
